Growing up, food was always at the heart of my family. However, when my mother was diagnosed with gluten intolerance in 2000, our kitchen had to transform. Suddenly, the rotis, parathas, and baked treats she loved became off-limits. It was a challenging time, and I knew I had to find a way to bring back the joy of food into her life.
The challenges didn’t stop there. When my children were born, they had multiple food intolerances—including yeast, eggs, and berries. Meal preparation became an exercise in precision and creativity. I wanted them to enjoy bread, cakes, and other baked goods safely, without compromising on taste or nutrition.
Determined to provide my family with the best, I embarked on a journey of experimentation. I refused to rely on refined flours, knowing their nutritional limitations. Instead, I explored alternative flours, looking for the perfect balance of taste, texture, and nutrition.
My ultimate goal was to develop a flour that behaved as closely as possible to wheat flour. This was especially important for my mother—she missed the comfort of traditional Indian breads like rotis and parathas. After countless trials, adjustments, and perseverance, my 100% Jowar Atta was born.
Jowar, or sorghum, emerged as the ideal choice. Naturally gluten-free, rich in fiber, and packed with essential nutrients, it provided a wholesome alternative to wheat without compromising on taste or texture. My mother could finally enjoy her favorite foods again, and my children had a safe, nutritious option for their meals.
What started as a necessity soon became a passion. I realized that many others were facing similar dietary challenges and struggling to find healthy, gluten-free alternatives. That’s when I decided to share my flour with others, ensuring that no one had to miss out on the simple joys of food.
Today, my gluten-free sorghum (jowar) flour is more than just a product—it’s a labour of love, born from my family’s health journey. It’s a testament to resilience, innovation, and the unwavering belief that everyone deserves to enjoy delicious, wholesome food, no matter their dietary restrictions.
